How to include Headings and sections in Table of Contents

How to include Headings and sections in Table of Contents

1. Once the TOC has been added to your document, a default table of contents page will be generated. This page is non-editable and will automatically update as you add headings and sections to your document.

2. To include specific text in the Table of Contents, select the desired text within your document and right-click on it.
3. When you right-click the text, two options will appear:
a) Add to TOC
b) Write for me
Choose Add to TOC

4. A modal will then appear, allowing you to designate the text as a Title, Section, or Subsection in the Table of Contents.

5. You can also customize how the text appears in the Table of Contents by entering a custom name in the "Display Text" field. For example, if the heading is titled "Introduction" but you want it to appear as "Introduction Material" in the TOC, you can specify the desired name in this field. If left unchanged, the original heading name will be used.

6. Ensure that the "Include in TOC" toggle is switched on (set to the right). This toggle must be enabled for the selected text to be included in the Table of Contents. If it is not activated, the chosen content will not be reflected in the TOC.
