What is Channel Mapping?

What is Channel Mapping?

If a user needs to share common information with a specific group of people via printed PDFs, emails, and short messages, there’s no need to create separate templates for each module. Instead, they can create a single document template and link email and SMS templates to it. This ensures all three templates are organized under a unified channel with a common name. Likewise, an email template can be linked to documents and short messages, and an SMS template can also be linked to documents and emails, streamlining the process and maintaining consistency.

  1. Only newly created templates can be linked and mapped within a channel.
  2. Existing templates cannot be associated with other templates.
  3. Template names cannot be modified when linking a document template to an email or short message template, ensuring uniformity across all formats.
  4. If the name of a document template is updated, the change will automatically reflect in the linked email and short message templates.
Users can also translate their documents, emails, and short messages into different languages available in the system and link them under the same common channel.

Follow these steps:

1. Once the design is complete, navigate to the Channels option in the left-hand menu.

2. A panel will open on the left, displaying separate sections for Documents, Emails, and Short Messages.

3. To link an email template to the current document, Click the +Plus icon next to the Email section.

4. A modal will appear to create a new email template.

5. After entering the details, the user has the option to automatically generate the email content from the document template. To utilize this feature, simply check the option provided. If you prefer to create a custom design for the email instead, leave the option unchecked.

6. Once you click "Start Designing", an email template will be created with the same name and automatically linked to the document.

7. To return to the Document Template, simply click on the Documents section, and it will take you back to the document template.

8. Similarly, you can create a short message template and link it to the current channel by following the same steps in the Short Messages section.

9. Any of the templates within this channel can be deleted directly by clicking the Delete button next to the respective template in each module.
